WD-repeats are motifs that are found in a variety of proteins and are characterized by a conserved core of 40-60 amino acids that commonly form a tertiary propeller structure. While proteins that contain WD-repeats participate in a wide range of cellular functions, they are generally involved in regulatory mechanisms concerning chromatin assembly, cell cycle control, signal transduction, RNA processing, apoptosis and vesicular trafficking. AAMP (angio-associated migratory cell protein) is a 434 amino acid immunoglobulin-like protein that contains 8 WD repeats. Expressed in endothelial cells, cytotrophoblasts and blood vessels, AAMP is thought to have a heparin-sensitive role in cell adhesion and cell migration. AAMP is strongly expressed in poorly differentiated colon adenocarcinoma cells, suggesting a role for AAMP in tumor progression. Product :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
