Mina53, also known as MINA (MYC induced nuclear antigen), MDIG or NO52, is a 465 amino acid protein that contains one JmjC domain and localizes to the nucleus. Expressed in placenta, liver, heart, pancreas and skeletal muscle, Mina53 is thought to be involved in ribosome biogenesis, specifically in the assembly of pre-ribosomal particles. Via its involvement in ribosome biogenesis, Mina53 may play an important role in cell growth and survival, as well as overall cellular proliferation events. Mina53 expression is upregulated in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), colon cancer and lung cancer tissues, suggesting that Mina53 may be involved in tumorigenesis. Multiple isoforms of Mina53 exist due to alternative splicing events. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
