Med30 is a subunit of the RNA polymerase II (Pol II) transcriptional mediator complex. The mediator complex is a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of Pol II-dependent genes. The mediator complex functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal Pol II transcription machinery, and is recruited to promoter regions by directly interacting with regulatory proteins. The mediator complex also serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional pre-initiation complex with Pol II and other general transcription factors. Found in the nucleus, Med30 is expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, placenta and skeletal muscle. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
