The calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) has been shown to play_x000D_ a major role in regulating parathyroid hormone secretion and_x000D_ subsequently influencing the calcium concentration of extracellular_x000D_ fluids. Based on sequence analysis of cDNA clones_x000D_ it appears that the CaSR is similar to the 7-transmembranedomain_x000D_ G-protein-coupled receptor superfamily. Changes in_x000D_ extracellular calcium are thought to modulate a balance between_x000D_ proliferation and differentiation in a variety of cell_x000D_ types. In normal primary keratinocytes and breast epithelial_x000D_ cells, proliferation is inhibited and elevated extracellular_x000D_ calcium levels trigger differentiation. Malignant transformations_x000D_ of these cell types are accompanied by a loss of responsiveness_x000D_ to the anti-proliferative effects of elevated extracellular_x000D_ calcium. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
