PKD2 (protein kinase D2), also known as PRKD2 or HSPC187, is a widely expressed protein belonging to the protein kinase D (PKD) family of serine/threonine kinases. In mammals, there are three members of the PKD family, namely PKC µ, PKD2 and PKC n, and each contain a homologous catalytic domain but differ in their tissue expression and subcellular localization. PKD family members are activated by G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and are known to participate in biological processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, migration, signal transduction and vesicle shedding. Shuttling between the nucleus and the cytoplasm, PKD2 contains one PH domain, one protein kinase domain and two phorbol-ester/DAG-type zinc fingers, and functions as a calcium-independent, phospholipid-dependent protein kinase. Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
