ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain with Thrombospondin type-1 modules) is a family of zinc-dependent proteases that are implicated in a variety of normal and pathological conditions, including arthritis and cancer. ADAMTS protein family members contain an N-terminal propeptide domain, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain and a C-terminus that contains a varying number of Thrombospondin type-1 (TSP-1) motifs. ADAMTS-17 (ADAM metallopeptidase with Thrombospondin type-1 motif, 17) is a 1,095 amino acid secreted protein that belongs to the ADAMTS family. Expressed in liver, prostate, brain and in fetal lung, ADAMTS-17 has seven N-glycosylation sites and shares 56% sequence identity with a related family member, ADAMTS-19. ADAMTS-17 has a conserved cysteine residue in its cysteine-switch motif that, when bound to one zinc ion, inhibits the enzymatic activity of the protein. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
