EPH receptor B4 (EphB4), with 987-amino acid protein (about 108kDa), belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein-tyrosine kinase family. The Eph receptor tyrosine kinases and their ligands, the ephrins, regulate numerous biological processes in developing and adult tissues and have been implicated in cancer progression and in pathological forms of angiogenesis. EphB4 acts as a negative regulator of blood vessel branching and vascular network formation, switching the vascularization program from sprouting angiogenesis to circumferential vessel growth. EphB4 and its ligand ephrinB2 express in several kinds of tumor cells and correlate with tumorigenesis. EphB4 is thus a potential candidate as a predictor of disease outcome in several kinds of tumor and as target for novel therapy. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
